Coach not happy with Strikas’ performance

Supa Strikas Coach has admitted to Supanews that despite beating ex-Super League champions Iron Tank this past weekend, the Men in Red didn’t start their league bid in the way he wanted when they suffered a defeat to Club Orion in their first game.

Coach, who almost led his team to their first Super League title last season, said he wasn’t impressed by the way his players were displaying their pedigree on the field. He added there’s still more to be done if they want to win the Super League trophy.

Coach told Supanews that by strengthening the team and making sure everyone is 100% fit, he’ll see to it that Strikas fans can expect a different team when the Men in Red play their third game in the league.

“We need to be strong at all our positions. We were careless against Club Orion. If we play like that again we can forget about challenging for league honours. We can’t allow our rivals Invincible United to drift too far away from us,” he said.

“My aim for the upcoming games is to make sure every position is tight. I don’t want any weak links that will sink us further down the table. We must play every game like it’s our last,” added Coach.

With everyone back including defender North Shore, who had a muscle strain, Coach can look forward to Strikas’ next Super League fixtures, which promise to be even tougher.

“I’ve got a responsibility to see that we win some silverware this year. The support we get from our fans means a lot to us. And we want to reward them for their ongoing support by giving them the best soccer of their lives!” concluded Coach.
