Rasta: an early wake-up call to pull up our socks
Supa Strikas captain, Dancing Rasta, has told Supanews his team’s defeat by Club Orion was a wake-up call that they’ll be playing improved sides this season.
Strikas have been plagued by stalemates in their last games, ensuring any movement on the log is due to other team’s successes. But Rasta put the power back in the hands of Strikas when he led his troops to their first points on the log.
The Strikas midfielder played a fantastic double-man job like Portuguese midfielder Ronaldo - pushing forward and supplying strikers with fantastic balls at the same time.
However, Rasta said it will take a lot of hard work to bring home the silverware, and the team must start pulling up their socks as this season will be harder than last season.
“In our first games we saw dat our opponents have been training hard… and are better teams dan dey were last season. We need to up our game and every man on da team needs to be involved,” Rasta said.
“If Shegs or El Matador don’t score, it doesn’t mean da team will lose. As a team we must work together as everyone is capable of scoring from forwards to midfielders to defenders,” he added.
Supa Strikas are fifth on the Super League log after Gallacticos, FC Nakama, Cosmos and the defending champions, Invincible United, who are first with six points. This is Strikas’ top position so far this season… and Rasta is determined to see the team keep on climbing.
