All eyes on Shegs and El Matador
Supa Strikas strikers, Shegs and El Matador, who were in great goal-scoring form in their previous games, will be gunning to register a win when the Men in Red meet rivals Gallacticos in this weekend’s showdown.
Supanews: July 14 is three days away - the date when all eyes will be on you two guys. How do you plan to approach the game?
Shegs: It’s gonna be difficult, but I know I’m ready. Coach wouldn’t have chosen me if I wasn’t capable of leading upfront with El Matador.
El Matador: Hey, muchacho! Gallacticos used to be my team. I don’t see myself struggling to get a goal as I know all de defenders and how they play. El Matador will score!
What advice did Coach have for you ahead of this crucial game?
Shegs: He told me I must be in charge upfront. He said I need to remain calm and positive, as that’s the key to keeping us strong upfront.
El Matador: Coach told me to stay focused and never panic as thees guys will be gunning for me, a former player on de team! I will just play my best and give eet 100% all out.
You’ll be partnering as usual. Does that mean you won’t compete for the most goals?
Shegs: Not at all! We play differently and help each other. What counts is the team’s success at the end of the day.
El Matador: No! We play as a team, but we’ll still be out there, both on the hunt for goals!
Would you like to be the leading goal scorer at the end of the season?
Shegs: Yes! That’s every striker’s dream… to finish on top with many goals. I believe I have the ability to get those goals needed to be the top scorer.
El Matador: Last season I scored five goals in one Super League game. What does that tell you, amigo? I’m going to be de leading scorer when de season ends!
Thanks for your time guys, and good luck against Gallacticos.
Shegs: No problem, my brother! Thank you too.
El Matador: Cool, muchacho! Don’t forget to buy El Matador’s new book about how to be a great striker… like me! [laughs]
