Edwin: We played well and should have drawn at least
Clube Palmentieri coach, Edwin, told Supanews that Supa Strikas played well in Sunday’s game and were very lucky to score that last-minute goal. However, the Brazilian-born star feels his team didn’t deserve to lose as they were the better side on the day, and that a final loss of concentration cost them the game.
“We didn’t deserve to lose that match! We were the better side technically and mentally. Our preparations were better than theirs and Coach knows that. We should have at least drawn that game,” said Edwin.
Kada, who was the star of the game for Palmentieri, said their unbeaten 100% record in the Super League is over. “I felt luck had abandoned us despite having the odds on our side!”
“Team spirit is down. We really tried to save the game, but at the end they were too strong, especially their captain, Dancing Rasta. He was the player putting us under pressure as he was supplying deadly passes and crosses to the strikers!” said Kada.
If it wasn’t for Dancing Rasta and his brilliant play, Edwin believes the Brazilians would have won the game comfortably. Strikas’ victory comes after two losses: their friendly game against Rovers and their Super League game against F.C. Colossus.
“It’s not about who deserved to win,” said Supa Strikas’ Coach, who was a very happy man after Dancing Rasta’s header sealed Strikas’ third win in the Super League.
“Football is like that – sometimes things go your way and sometimes they don’t. At the end of the day it’s the score that counts and we are really happy about the result!” he added.
