North Shaw aims high for this season

Supa Strikas defender, North Shaw, has revealed to Supanews that his main goal this season is to be nominated among the best defenders in the Super League. If this happens the talented defender could see himself in the running to win the Defender of the Year award.

North Shaw, who joined Supa Strikas from the development side last season, was back to his high standard of play - keeping Big Bo’s sheet clean with the The Blok and Rizo, another newly promoted player from the development side.

The talented defender told Supanews that things are going to be very different this season. He is more focused, determined and ready to take on any challenge.

North Shaw proved this against rivals Clube Palmentieri two weeks ago, when he kept the deadly Kada quiet in the second half of the game. This was an impressive display by Shaw, which helped the Men in Red to victory.

His superb slide-tackles and steady defensive play at the back were a warning to rival strikers: start respecting him because Strikas’ goal mouth is his yard and nobody passes without asking.

“My focus and aim this season is to be the best of the best in the Super League, dude… and making the Super League Best Eleven at the end of the season! And if I also get the award for Defender of the Year it would be, like, a TOTALLY great achievement!” said North Shaw.
