Zaman: Why Super League teams must fear US!

Sultans’ manager and coach, Sheikh Ali Zaman, has described his team as one-of-a-kind, and says despite being the new boys in the prestigious tournament, Super League teams must fear them… including Supa Strikas!

Sheikh Ali Zaman is feeling confident ahead of Sultans’ showdown with Supa Strikas, to be played at Strikaland next month.

Zaman, who formed Sultans last year, is one of the richest managers in the Super League. And the sheikh is on a mission. After Invincible United, he wants his team to become the second rookie team to win the Super League in their debut season.

Supanews: How does it feel to be playing in the Super League for the first time ever?

Sheikh Ali Zaman: Great! We had tough qualifiers, but kept our cool as we knew our aim was to play against the best the world has to offer! I feel great that now people will know who Sultans are and what they are made of!

Why do you say teams must fear you?

We are bringing a new approach to the way football is played. We can’t be stopped as we are ahead of everyone. We’ve studied all the teams. We know what we must do and which players to add to the squad in order to stay on top of the game.

As the manager of the team, what do you need to do to ensure your team is the best?

As a manager, you need to have a quality team. 1) You must be able to buy any player at any cost, and we can do that. 2) You must always be ahead of your opponents, and we have scouts who are checking all our rivals in the league. 3) Opponents must not find any weakness in your team, and so we change our game every time we play just to confuse our rivals.

Last season you failed to qualify for the Super League. What makes you sure you have a chance for the title this season?

We didn’t plan well last time. But we know what we did wrong and this time we won’t make the same mistake again. The team’s mission is to finish in the first position and that’s why we will be spending money to bring in top players.
